Salem is a town located in south-central Missouri in the Montauk area. Salem is well known for its many outdoor recreational activities, including deer and turkey hunting, horseback riding, fishing, camping, and is a favorite place to stay for visitors to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.

Salem’s arts culture is steadily growing into an attraction all its own. Area studios and art guilds showcase the works of local talents, featuring painters and illustrators, photographers, musicians, potters, weavers, quilters and a variety of crafts. There are many groups available only in Salem that are helping to increase the culture. The Dent County Courthouse (pictured right) is located in Salem and so is the Salem Memorial Hospital, both making it a much safer place for the families that live here.
